I hope this is allowed - I wanted to share that there is a FREE 5-class webinar being taught by dressage rider and Feldenkrais practitioner Dave Thind. All you need to do it sign up! Just wanted to make others aware if they were interested in trying this out!
Life changing!
Thank you!
ah rats, it is during my riding lessons. I am not a zoom user, but is there a way to record these if you arenāt available during the time?
Thanks for the heads up, this will be great!
I registered today and I THINK it said the recordings are available after. You have to make an account - the link is in the article I linked above.
Thanks! The time of is 4 or 5 hours into my 10+ hour workday and Iām constantly in meetings so canāt attend live. But if itās recorded, perfect!
Thanks! My hips need help. Yes, it says their will be recordings for those of us not able to attend live.
Woohoo!
Did anyone watch or participate in the first session? I didnāt really learn anything, it was all basic yoga. He just called it by a different name. I am curious if any posters have taken the full course.
I really enjoyed that first session and felt better in my body after that work.
Interesting stuff. I look forward to more feedback.
I enjoyed it, very different from Pilates which is my current go-to. No experience of yoga so canāt comment on that comparison
Iāve recently had a hands on session from a Feldenkrais practitioner that was very beneficial and really freed my battered hip joints up a lot - I have one malformed socket and had a horse land on the other sideā¦.so yeah, they are not great!
I found the online session to be a good in between re-set to keep me thinking and moving better. I was lying completely differently at the end of the session compared to the start.
I signed up and enjoyed it. Thanks so much for posting this information here, otherwise, I wouldnāt have heard about it!
I do yoga, pilates and work with Dave. Feldenkrais movements are very subtle, not looking for full range of motion/stretch. The goal is to reset your nervous system to allow movement to flow and not be restricted by trying to hard to force the movement. The āexerciseā should not be forced or be work. Less is more and just thinking of the movement can be enough to make a change for the better in your body. Iām a doer, get the job done no matter what it takes and Dave has helped to unlock my body to be a better rider who can use intention rather than effort to dance with my partner.
Hmmm, thatās interesting. Iām a doer and also goal driven. Will have to stick with the 4 other sessions.
The goal is to feel how the movement affects all parts of your body, not just the part being moved. It can take a while to really let go and feel minute differences and how your body moves more freely. Good luck with your journey.
I signed up, but was unable to access the replays ā does anybody have a link? Thank you!
ETA have been doing Feldenkrais for about 2-3 years online with Catherine McCrumb; it is a game changer!
Hopefully there will be opportunity to watch now if I sign up.
We had a local Feldenkrais practioner but she has moved away.
