For those who are interested…On Monday June 1, at 8-9AM on the crime documentary series American Justice…I think that is an A&E channel.
American Justice hosted by Bill Kurtis ran live from 1992-2005.
On DirecTV, the next American Justice re-air show is June 10 on channel CriminalInvestigation.
One would have to research whatever streaming services one has to figure how if/when the episode on Helen Brach is being streamed.
Well…here is a link to the documentary…
Who Killed the Candy Heiress The Helen Brach Story
Thank you for posting the link pluvinel.
Look for some classic names, I’m sure.
I’ve seen in several times before. I don’t think there is much about the H/J world, maybe a little Sandman and George Lindeman? But the key characters are Richard Bailey who I think she had some sort of relationship with and Silas Jayne.
Read the book a couple of years ago - very well laid out. (Link for those who are curious - https://smile.amazon.com/Hot-Blood-M…1556287&sr=8-2)
I grew up in a neighboring town to Glenview, so oddly enough the public library had it on the shelves. Have to make baggies for the pony later today, so I will check out the video link whilst doing those - thanks pluvinel!
just watched it…i’m not far from RI and remember when the info about Valliere and Ward came out. I may pick up the book. Thanks for posting
I was working for Ward while the whole thing was going on. Bobby Burns and a friend came to the farm on a weekend and another groom and I went out drinking with them. I didn’t know what he was there for or that he was known as the Sandman; I just assumed he was a friend of Barney’s. I didn’t hear about his involvement with Ms. Brach until I read Hot Blood.
The investigation of the Brach disappearance led to uncovering a scheme of insurance fraud. This included Marion Hulick and the son of a billionaire, George Lindemann Jr.'s, role in electrocuting his show jumper, Charisma, for the insurance money.

This is abhorrent. Thank you all for posting here.
The trainer I rode with through high school used to work for Richard when she was starting out. She had a lot of reasons for feeling uncomfortable and deciding ultimately to leave the barn.
OMG… she must have some good stories to tell.
He was not the only sketchy one around. However she and her horse got out unscathed, and the clients were apparently very generous. The students’ parting gift when she moved was a brand-new (at the time) Kiefer Bayern (which she barely ever used as she didn’t do dressage. At one point she loaned it to me and my brother. Best saddle I’ve ever sat in.) Just…yeah, bad vibes, I gather. And I know I’ve got theories about where Helen Brach went. No one will ever prove anything, but there are some theories.
The original Law & Order series did an episode years ago that was clearly based on the Brach murder and the horse killings for insurance. Since that show is rerun on multiple channels forever, you can keep an eye out for it.ðŸ˜
