PSA - Hoof Armor customer service

All, I just wanted to give a shout out to Hoof Armor customer service.

The story: I got a refill kit from Valley Vet, went to use it, and it came out like water instead of epoxy and got hot enough to melt the gloves I was wearing. Yikes! The original cartridge did not behave that way! I contact customer service - they asked me to return the misbehaving one and sent me two brand new ones with tips. They agreed that the one I returned was not behaving as normal, and are doing additional investigation.

Bravo, Hoof Armor! Thank you!

Nice to hear!

How much protection do you find it provides? My gelding is wearing his LH hoof unevenly but I don’t want to put shoes on him because I turn him out with my mares and his go-to move is a double-barreled kick. It’s just a threat, but I don’t want to risk that one of these days it might go further. Anyway, I’ve been wondering if the Hoof Armor could help him not wear so unevenly.

I find it makes the thin soled ones more comfortable. I can’t say it’s helped with chipping though, so I doubt it would help substantially with uneven wear.

Bummer. Thanks for the input, though.

I’ve used it in the winter on my pasture boarded barefoot pony to help him feel comfortable on the frozen ground. These past two winters I haven’t needed it since it’s been so mild. My trimmer applies it after his trim.

I’ve used it to reduce wear and correct balance. It won’t likely help with chipping, but with abrasion, yes.

Thanks! I think I will give it a try then.
