PSA Resvantage for IR horses

I put one of the IR horses in my care on the 5 weeks ago. His insulin was not managed well by Metabarol, InsulinWise, Heiro or any other supplement I tried. He wears a muzzle, gets Low N Steady ration balancer, and low NSC hay. His fasted insulin went from 56 (while on InsulinWise) to 30 on 4 caps of this.
The other horse I use this on (because I couldn’t get anything else down him) has stayed reliably in the normal range for insulin.
It’s expensive but it seems to be doing the job.

Thanks for posting this. That is a pretty good drop, you must be Happy! I’m waiting for results on my mini and depending how things look, the Resvantage sounds like it could be an option. He was 40.3 on his last draw. That’s with the Steglatro and IW. I really don’t think the IW is doing much for either of mine.

The box says 2 capsules a day. I called the company to ask about it. Because the insulin of these two was pretty high, it was recommended I do 4 capsules.

For one, I have to cut the very tip off of the capsules and scrape the gel out with a tiny gadget (I think it’s for eating crab legs) and scrape it back into a 10 cc syringe. I add an equal amount of water and syringe it down his throat.
The other scarfs it down w Unbeetable and warm water to make the gel capsules sticky.
I tried treats but the capsules rolled back out of their mouths. I thought I’d share what works for me as they are expensive.

Replying again to let you know I was able to take mine off of Stelgatro.

Oh that’s great! I hope to cut Peanut’s down to half a tab at some point, but that may be wishful thinking.
