PSA review on Schneider's fine tine manure fork.

The basket is great. I was afraid that 1/2 inch distance between tines wouldn’t be much of an improvement over the regular-tine forks, but not so. I can pick up goat droppings.

I find the fiberglass handle too heavy, though. I will try to put my aluminum ergonomic handle on in place of what came with it.

The fork was $25 + $8 for shipping–extra, although I bought a winter sheet along with it which brought my total over $100. The handle was wrapped separately, so . . .not a big deal.

Too bad it is a basket shape, instead of the flat fork style . Basket just weighs too much extra for me to try it. I would buy a flat type fork with tines closely spaced.

The bigger one is unwieldy for me as well, but we have the small one and I do use that to get the little churned up pieces when necessary. Comes in handy after the 4th of July!

Not sure I like the price - but if it’s really good, I could grow to love it !

I bought some of the Equi-Tee Flex’n Forks a few years ago, based on great reviews here. They are great! No broken tines, and the handle is well-balanced. I bought the three pack (around $150 then) and gave one to a friend for a birthday present. Best manure forks ever!

Without the mesh, price for fork only is $58.95. Still a pretty high cost to me! I am a bit rough on forks at times, so the thought of snapping off a tine is not good.

It does look like a fork I would like using, love the narrow tines. Would save many second scoops to get what falls out between stall and spreader. Thanks for the link.

This basket is plastic so doesn’t weigh much (unless loaded ;)). I would have preferred the smaller model, but was in a hurry to get something. However, if the illustration is accurate, the handle is just as long as the full sized one.

I just got one not long ago. Don’t know how long it will last, but damn, it really IS that good:) Mine is the mini-tin one, about $60. The company was super easy to work with too. Easy to communicate. Fast shipping.

Thanks for the positive review Gloria.

I’ve been using Fine Tines for ~15 yrs now. Absolutely love them. I am still using the original 2 that I purchased, they have lasted in perfect shape, no missing tines at all.

I do not notice that they are heavy, bulky or unwieldy. But maybe that comes with perseverance and practice.

I would not trade them for anything! I love being able to sift out tiny particles of poop.

I’ve had both. The Fine Tine forks are adequate, but they are a bit unwieldy. The times started breaking off after about a year.

I recently bought the equi-tee mentioned above based on a COTH member’s recommendation. I LOVE it.
