Oooh, thanks for the heads up!

Thanks so much!
Love to watch Ascot, mainly because I am such a fan of turf racing
My favorite winner of Ascot was Crimson Advocate, the gutsy chestnut filly who runs like a stalking cat. She is sch a pretty mover. She was moved from the USA to the UK in 2024. She was owned by Tameem Binhamad and trained by George Weaver and is now owned by Wathnan Racing and currently training under John Gosden.
She is such a beautiful mover.
She finished 2nd in March in the Snowdrop Fillies Stakes and just finished 1st in the Conqueror Stakes at Goodwood in early May. Looking forward to seeing more from her and seeing what she does as a broodmare.

I am always awed at how much better the camera work is for racing overseas; it’s not just Ascot - the UK, Ireland, and France all do a much better job than any networks in the US. Multiple views, closer to the action…just better overall.
Crimson Advocate wins Ascot AGAIN!
From Last To First! Crimson Advocate wins at Royal Ascot for the second time!
I was pulling for Running Lion, last year’s winner. She tried but couldn’t last when they came to her.
2 year old Harry’s Girl went down in the Queen Mary right after the start. She suffered a fatal injury
I was watching.
It’s on NBC tv right now, it’s day 5 I think. THe sound and commentators mouths aren’t in synch, Next race runs in a couple of minutes.
Superstar warrior Rebel’s Romance won the Group 2 Hardwicke. He’s the first 7yo to win it since 1923.
Jockey William Buick afterwards: “He’s my best friend.”
I was watching the start of the NBC coverage this morning.
They were talking way too much about the fashion and the hats and the guests with the royals and yada yada to suit me.
I don’t think they said one word about the actual racehorses for the first 15 minutes, at least.
I’ve been skipping the first half hour or so all week…don’t care about fashion, although I know it’s always an integral part of the event since well before TV was around.
It does make me laugh when they try to repurpose their usual NBC staff for different events to get more use out of them. So one of the people doing the coverage from Ascot is the person who normally does the weather on the Today show when Al Roker has the day off.
And then I think one of the guys who was doing the coverage in the betting ring is the guy who usually does the extremely (not to say painfully) detailed reports on voting results as they come in during elections.
He normally appears on TV wearing a plain shirt and a pair of khakis. So seeing him in his top hat and mourning suit today was quite a change. Lol.
My Racehorse’s UK partnership has a winner, Get It, in the 6f Wokingham.
On fashion - inasmuch as I care, I hate polka dots, which they’ve noted approximately 700 times so far are very popular this year.
I’m always amazed by the variety of hats on display.
I’m really not much of a hat person at all, and if I put on a baseball hat or a visor, it is strictly for utilitarian purposes to keep the sun out of my eyes.
So I don’t even understand how they keep some of these creations on their heads in the first place.
I am loving the coverage. The “fascinators” are so creative! The audio is off, but the coverage is good. I’d love to go, but getting my husband to dress up would be a challenge.
In 1996, my husband and I attended the races at Goodwood. The horses were so much different than the TBs here. We were in the enclosure with the other rabble. I got very emotional and cried, some of that because I was jet-lagged. It was so beautiful.
