PSA: Triple Crown feed

PSA: Tractor Supply Company now carries Triple Crown feed (Senior for sure). I’ve been driving 100 miles round trip to get feed so this is great news for me. I will have to order online but can pick it up at my local TSC store.

Good to know! Their website is currently showing that Senior, Complete, and Lite are available, FWIW to anyone. I will continue to support my local feed store (about 2 miles down the road, lucky me!) but options are always good to have.

Wow good to know! The local feed store delivers to me so I will stick with them, but it’s great for a back up!

If they start keeping it in stock as a regular item then even the Triple Crown feeds will be subject to the same housekeeping issues TSC has with their other feeds. Lack of rotation and occasional grain mite infestation come to mind. But ordering a small batch for pickup would likely avoid both of those issues. Certainly good news for a great number of horses. I feed TC products myself and I think they are just great!

Good to know! We have a big r that carries TC, it’s another 20 miles into town. We buy our dog food at TSC, I’ve switched to Purina since they carry it.

I do miss feeding LMF!

We have several feed stores that sell it locally. I looked on the website and it is ship only to my area. Just for fun, I put in how much it would cost for 6 bags to be delivered to my house. $136!!! Yikes!

TC Senior is $23.99 in my store, so $22.66 delivered to my house doesn’t sound like such a bad deal.

The $136 was the delivery fee! The total for 6 bags was $300!

I wonder if they will carry it at my local TSC.
Especially the TC Timothy Balance Cubes eventually.
For months I’ve had a friend p/u the TCTBC at Steinhausers in Alvin when he’s there.
He lives near that SH - I’m miles from it.
Every time - they make a mistake. Every time he has to take something back to get the cubes.
They confuse it with the TC 30.
One time I got a bag of milo. ???
Friend is not a horse person - so doesn’t check.
Just 15 minutes ago he brought me a bag of the cubes - having to again go back to SH’s to get it.
He said the manager told him I order it incorrectly and that most people buy the TC30 pct. (ration balancer). So??
That when I order next time I’m to ask for the 50. ???
The cubes are 50 pound bags. The RB 40 pound bags.
I want to give up. So there is hope !!! TSC please start carrying the TCTBC here - soon.
Thanks OP for the info. Just in time !!!

TC 30 is a 50lb bag.

The only (common) RB I know that comes in 40lb bags is the Nutrena Empower Balance.

Really? Thanks JB. After all my research and questions here about RB’s - you’d think I’d get the weight of the bags right. So - if and until I can get the TCTBC’s from TSC - I need to find the magic words so SH puts the correct feed in the truck. Not that TSC hasn’t made mistakes…had forgotten about that.

This is just one of the reasons I want to use the barn feed (Nutrena - included in board) for my horse (other thread).

Hang on…Buckeye Gro n Win comes in a 30 pound bag.
I’ve fed that / ordering from Chewy - after getting disgusted with feed store mistakes.
Chewy has never gotten it wrong.

Seeing the TC 30 was lower in S/S I ordered a bag from Steinhausers.
Was so excited. When it was unloaded - I knew immediately - wrong stuff again.
It was taken back - so I ordered Cal Trace.

You’re right, the GNW does have a 30lb size, but that’s only for certain online sources, like Chewy’s (and I think only for sources where you can ONLY get it online, like Chewy’s). If you buy in-store from a dealer, or I could order from Big Dee’s, it’s also a 50lb bag since they are a physical location.

This is correct, my local feed store delivers it to me and the TC30 is 50#.
