Has anyone had a horse pull/strain/do.something. to a pec muscle? specifically (I think) the anterior deep pectoral muscle - or the muscle that runs the length of the scapula.
Gus did something to his chest - more specifically in the area near the point of the shoulder on the left side. If you go to palpate that area he darn near takes off your head. It’s EXTREMELY sensitive. On the right side he’s non-reactive.
Whatever he did, its become noticeable undersaddle, so now he’s out of work for a little bit. We had previously been able to work him through the issue but last Wednesday it was definitely a no go. He’s head-bobbing more significantly when on the right rein, even though it’s the left front that is affected.
Any ideas? Suggestions? I did email the vet last week but I haven’t heard back from her yet. He is getting bute for a week and some R & R.
