Quality Drop Noseband Bridle

Looking for a quality drop noseband, open to buying from a small north american company or larger well known brand. Not afraid of spending money on a nice piece of tack. Where would you recommend buying? They used to be a dime a dozen, now the options are limited.

Recently purchased a Kavalcade bridle as a test, the combination worked, but the bridle itself apart within a matter of weeks. Ready to move up now that we found a fit.

I see very few dropped noseband bridles. More often dropped nosebands are offered separately and simply replace the original. It’s hard to find a properly proportioned drop noseband, IMO.

Red barn has a nice drop noseband, but not sure if they sell it in a bridle. I had to buy a separate noseband.

Did you order from Dressage Extensions? THey have several bridles with Drop nosebands. I’ve found a bit better luck with UK tackshops online having a good selection of bridles/nosebands.

I ordered a drop noseband (not a whole bridle) from Bobby’s English Tack (brand). I ordered it through my local tack store, but I think you can order one online through TackZone. I bought the one from Bobby’s because it adjusts both on the top of the nose and under the chin. In my opinion, the brand tends to run large. I’ve had it for years with no issue. My only complaints would again be the sizing, and that the nose piece is too wide to make it worth punching holes through (the metal buckle can only fit so far along it). long story short, if you buy one, measure your guy’s nose before you order so you get the right size.

The PS of Sweden looks interesting. Has anyone used DYON’s anatomical drop noseband or the ANKY drop noseband? Or Hastilow?

Good Leather is very hard to come by these days, even our friends at the trade shows are disappointed.

I bought a lovely drop noseband bridle from the UK.

I have had it for 4 years now and the quality has been fantastic. I did change out the browband for something with a little bit of sparkle as I did find the straight browband that it came with, was a bit tight on my horse. This bridle, by far, fits the best in the noseband then any others that I have tried. The noseband ring is angled and provides an excellent fit.

Ps of Sweden recently removed their original drop noseband bridle and replaced it with the Pioneer Revolution, which I have. I don’t have a ton of experience with high end bridles, but the Ps looks nice and feels nice. I have gotten many compliments on it and my horse has gone better in the contact with it.

You can get a customisable bridle from http://www.bitbankaustralia.com.au/bridle2fit-hp1-standard-bridle/
You are asked to choose all the elements of the bridle and a drop noseband is one of the noseband options. I also want a quality bridle with a drop noseband and this is the bridle that I will be getting.

Thank you everyone for your input! We are going to try the Dy’on Dressage Collection Drop Noseband Snaffle Bridle on our gelding. I have several youngsters coming up, depending on how they go in the Stubben snaffle bridle for schooling I may have to invest in a PS of Sweden as well. I will post back what the quality is like, and what our guy thinks of it.

FWIW, Hastilow’s leather is usually excellent.

I second (or third) Dy’on. I have one of their bridles and LOVE it, so glad I finally spent the money on a quality bridle. I get tons of compliments on it. I use it for my every day bridle, as well as to show in, and so far it is holding up well.

Scruffy the Cat, I wish I had seen your comment on Hastilow!

Draft mare, How much oiling did you do before use?

I have one from Schlockenmoel (sp)… quality is very nice.

It’s okay- the Dy’on is probably lovely as well!

I have a Passier dropped nose and & it is very nice. Mary’s Tack will order for you if you can’t find elsewhere.
