First off I’m not an EVENTER but more of a Dressage guy. Well, as for the Dressage portion I thought most of the horses performed quite well actually. Not the same quality as FEI Dressage but fairly close since those horses aren’t Dressage specific. Although I saw MAJOR Rider improvements, you can tell they all worked hard at it, left room for even more improvements.
I thought the London committee made an absolutely OUTSTANDING Cross Country Course. The fences were so inviting and there didn’t look like there were as many dangerous fences as in other Games. It looked more TAXING for the Endurance part of it. Seemed long in distance for some reason & a lot more TECHNICAL.
As for the STADIUM portion, same as the CC, the course had some very inviting fences, nice airy looking jumps and again was quite long and with the time limit you had to really gallop out & some horses got flat which caused a lot of rails to come down. But if you weren’t at a mad gallop you couldn’t make the distances or the time. So again all very Tactful & Technical riding.
So KUDO’S to all the riders & their horses. And MEGA-KUDO’S to the Course Designers. IT WAS ALL FABULOUS !!!
