Quarantine stations?

Anyone know of a list of quarantine stations in the US? I’m shipping a stallion in from Holland and would like to have him as close to home (I live in SC) as possible since he will be there for a month. Anyone know where I can find them?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I do know that if I was importing a horse to the southeast that had to stay in qt for that length of time, I’d use James Lala’s quarantine in Wellington FL. James is first class, and I have heard only great things about it!

at the import center in Stewart airport, Newburg NY, i have picked up a few stallions for a number of clients.
I like Rigby Farm in MD, had one stallion that was a bit of a rouge, but they handled him quite well.
Here is a link,

I also think their prices are reasonable.
If you need help hauling from NY let me know.

I found this link for the list of States authorized for CEM quarantine
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/animals/downloads/states_app_conduct_cem_testing.pdf

In NC, for example, that facility is in Southern Pines, run by the NC State Dept of Vet Medicine. Depending on where exactly you are you could simply search for CEM facilities in surrounding states to see which are close to you, have space, fees, etc.

You probably want to know where you are flying in to before you pick a quarantine farm. Flights can vary in price quite a bit depending on your destination.

Also depending on the arrival airport - how about Blue Diamond Stables resp. Blue Diamond Stables on Facebook in Ohio?

Highly recommended!

Your state vet should have the info you are looking for. Then you can research the farms that apeal to you.

Rigbie! Hands down!

They are excellent and have turn out and walking machine.

Always had great experiences with them.

Eek, NOT Rigbie, would not recommend them.

I second Blue Diamond, fantastic facility!!!

Go on the USDA website and search for quarantine stations - they are listed on there.
