Question about jump standards

I’m sorry if this is basic knowledge, but I’ve searched the world wide web near and far and can’t seem to find an answer (perhaps my search terms are wrong). Are there standard sizes for fences? For example, I see a lot of horses listed as “jumping up to 2’6/3’3” etc. If so, is there a definitive list somewhere? Thanks so much in advance!

Jump heights are generally 3" increments (18", 2’, 2’3, 2’6, 2’9, 3’, 3’3, 3’6, etc.), at least for hunter/equitation classes. Jump heights for jumpers are generally in meters.

We have plastic standards that go up by 2" increments, but I agree that 3" is more normal. The plastic standards top at about 3’6", and then we have wooden standards that go to 4’0" and some others than are 5’6". I like the shorter standards as they are lighter to carry and I don’t have students with ambition past 3’6"!

Standards can be up to 6’ tall (or a bit more for some show standards) so jump heights can be anywhere from 0 to 6 feet.

Hunters can be anything from 18" up to 4’ (or slightly higher for some option fences in derbies), usually going up in 3" increments and with specific heights associated with specific divisions.

Jumpers can be anything from around 0.65m up to 1.60m, with some puissance or six-bar classes going beyond that. Usually heights will go up in 5cm or 10cm increments, and often the height will be listed as part of the class name.
