For USEF National Points - are ponies allowed to compete in any of the Jumper divisions other than Pony Jumpers?
There’s nothing saying that they can’t, so I would think that means yes. But your best bet is contacting the USEF and asking them.
Yes they can. I know a few who regularly show in the child/adult jumpers.
Yes, ponies can be ridden in other jumper divisions.
But there are restrictions on cross entering:
JP118 Sections/Classes Restricted to Children, Adult Amateur Riders, or Ponies
…
4. Pony Jumper: A pony, 14.2 hands and under in height, that is ridden by an individual who has not reached his/her
18th birthday. Stallions are prohibited in Pony Jumpers
a. Riders. Pony Jumpers may not be ridden by an adult in any section at the same competition.
…
d. Cross Entries. Riders competing in any Pony Jumper section cannot compete in any other sections at the same competition in which they are required to jump fences higher than 1.10 m (3’7") (Exception: Children’s Jumpers).
Yes. I regularly showed my pony jumper in the Ch/AA when the ponies didn’t fill or wasn’t offered.
Thanks for all the comments. My question pertains ONLY to those divisions used by USEF for National Points. On the USEF web site for Points and Standings>2016 National Points>Jumpers, I see the following divisions:
1.40m-1.45m Junior Jumper
1.40m-1.45m Amateur Owner Jumper
1.30m-1.35m Junior Jumper
1.30m-1.35m Amateur Owner Jumper
1.20m-1.25m Junior Jumper
1.20m-1.25m Amateur Owner Jumper
Young Riders
U25 Jumper
$25,000+ Grand Prix Jumper
5 y/o Young Jumpers
6 y/o Young Jumpers
7 y/o Young Jumpers
Pony Jumper
Are there any of those divisions that do not allow ponies at all?
(Info needed for registry awards program.)
Bump. Can anyone answer my question above (post #6)?
I have contacted USEF but have not gotten an answer from them yet.

None of the bar ponies from entry, but everything other than the pony jumpers is larger than 1.10m so you can’t show in both of them. There’s also very little reason to do a pony in any other division.
Might not be much on it because courses above 1.1m are quite technical combination wise, as they go up they include tricky triple combinations and open water for example and time allowed gets quite stingy. Anything below 14.2 would, in all likelyhood, have problems safely navigating the course within the time allowed.
In other words, it’s probably assumed the vast majority won’t want to try it so it’s not specifically mentioned. Is the Pony currently doing double clears in the 1.1m or is this a rhetorical question?

The rules are pretty clear.JP113 Eligibility
- Jumpers may be of any breed, height, or sex. (Exception: Pony Jumpers, see JP118.4)
There are some complicated rules on cross entries, but in terms of a registry awards program, a pony MAY compete in any of those divisions.

Remember Stroller (Silver at the Mexico Olympics)?
Yes, I realize that except for the pony jumper classes, courses are generally designed for horses. Again, my question was whether ponies were FORBIDDEN to compete in divisions other than Pony Jumpers.
And thanks, Janet! I somehow kept missing that section in the rules.
