I’ve noticed that my dude’s heels are getting a little pink and might be on the verge of having some mild rubbed places from a seam on the inside of the back of his (fitted by his trimmer) hoof boots. He only wears them when I ride, but he’s always been a delicate thing and I don’t want his wittle baby tootsies to get ouchies. LOL. So, I looked to see if they made “horse socks” to go in boots, and I see Cavallo makes a wrap that basically looks like the top of a big black human sock that fits over the pastern and heel. So, I did a search on here and saw a thread from about a decade ago where people talk about using men’s athletic socks.
My question is, do you cut the foot part off of the sock? The toe? The whole foot? Leave the sock intact? What?
Any other suggestions are welcomed. I figured the men’s socks thing would be the cheapest. Vet wrap was the first thing that came to mind, and I still might try that, but the socks would be reusable.
Thanks for any suggestions!
