The commentators mentioned that the course crosses back on itself a few times. I haven’t seen an actual map to confirm. Withe several riders on the course at once, what happens if 2 riders show up at this crossing point at the exact same time? :eek:
The map I looked at ( http://www.horsejunkiesunited.com/2012/07/30/get-ready-for-olympic-cross-country-course-map-and-ride-times/) does not show the track crossing itself. There are several places where it loops back and the inbound and outbound legs are near each other. But nowhere do I see the track crossing itself.
