Question for Central VA trainers

In the thread last week, some peeps said they were impressed with the Academy program saddleseat barns compete in.

Would anyone in central VA be interested in bringing their kids to a local Academy show? My barn will have a lovely outdoor ring and we’re considering putting on some schooling/ Academy shows when we get settled. While the class is technically “saddleseat” because cutback saddles are used, that’s about as “saddleseat” as it gets. It’s WTC with snaffle bridles on Arabs, Morgans, QHs, ASBs, & random ponies. We could easily allow sport type tack/entries.

Attire would be breeches, boots & a nice shirts (You can go a little wild here). Doesn’t have to be expensive, but needs to be neat. All classes are flat classes - no jumps available. Entry fees probably around $10. Might be more or less. Minimal stalls available, if any. The more entries we get, the less it costs. It’s a good way for a trainer to get a bunch of newer riders show ring time for not a lot of money and not a lot of time.

This is the usual class list. Typically, the riders stay in the ring for their “division”. Makes it go quicker.

We haven’t moved yet. I wondered if it was worth the postage to send out prize lists to whatever barn I find listed in the area. It will be a late fall thing, I think.
