Question for male english riders (sensitive topic)

I can personally vouch for one UL male rider… Cough, cough…

A little off topic but (I think!) interesting – side saddle is s newer thing & wasn’t the prevailing fashion until the 16th century. At least two of Henry VIII’s wives are known to have been riders: Catherine of Aragon, a skilled horsewoman who rode before her husband’s battle-ready troops; and Anne Boleyn, who was arguably the best English horsewoman of her generation. Both are thought to have ridden astride. Catherine de Medici was one of the first trendy women to adopt side siddle.

If he is a boxer shorts guy, advise he switch to jockey shorts. They are called jockey shorts for a reason!

Actually I mostly sit the canter. In dressage they sit the canter (just saying) on a trail ride I mostly sit the canter. I go into two point if we are going faster (after all OTTB’s do like to run). I am thinking the bike shorts idea is likely a good one for the issue. The issue is “things” need to be up and out of the way. I’m a woman and certainly glad I don’t have any dangling parts down there with which to contend
(I think we lost our best smiley face icon, the huge green grin.
But I guess this one will do).

Maybe we need to do some studies akin to this one.

Except I think probably men are OK until they hit they saddle due to being a beginner and bouncing or the horse acts up. Maybe men would appreciate soft padding built into the front of the saddle?
