Question for Rubicon owners...

Who out there is using the short billets/longer girth with their Rubicon? I really hate dressage girths and I’m looking to change, but can’t seem to find a longer girth that works without buying all the girths on the planet and trying them one at a time.

The other thing I’m looking for is a good saddle pad to go with the saddle. I’m currently just using a quilted pad, but it would be nice to have something that would go a bit further in protecting his back for longer rides.

I only do LDs ;-> and not very many of them at that. But I will be doing more trail riding/conditioning this summer sooooo…

I have a Solstice, which is also by Arabian Saddle company and is pretty similar. I prefer the short billets too, and use a Toklat woolback girth (a 40 to 44, depending on fitness!) As for pad, I’ve gone through a few, am now really liking the Matrix (wool too) with high impact inserts. Been good for 50 miles, dries super fast.

I’ve been happy ordering through Riding Warehouse, great return policy and good service. Good luck finding what works!

Thanks, irish_horse!
