I apologize if this the wrong forumn to ask my question as I was torn between posting here or on the racing forumn, but I thought it might be more appropriate here…
Anyway, I am venturing over from “hunterland” and am beyond clueless about steeplechasing or the activities related to it. I saw an article and pictures in the Equiery about pony divisions in these types of races, which I never knew existed, and I have a few questions. What is the general breeding and background of ponies that do this? Age and training? What about the kids - are they semi-professional jocks or just regular kids? What about injuries and breakdowns (not trolling to start a fight - just a question please)? Can anybody give me an overview of this or tell me more about it?
