Questionable Tactics During Belmont Run

I think CBS broadcast the Kentucky Derby then, and pioneered using a small split screen to follow him in the race. Unfortunately he did not fire for that race.

Silky Sullivan was a beautiful individual. nice mover too!

I loved Silky as a kid, and after he was retired, i’d always try to get to Golden Gate Fields on St. Patrick’s Day to see him. My other favorite at the time was the horse i mentioned above, Olden Times, who was the exact opposite of Silky, s one he was a sprinter/miler who won off the front end. Got to see him in retirement in KY in 1978.

Cool! As far as the silly claim, RH was not a rabbit, a rabbit sets the pace, Justify was setting the pace, in case it was not noticed, he went wire to wire. Justify was not challenged by anyone and Restoring Hope faded after laboring to keep up, I saw not one horse blocked by Restoring Hope backing up through the crowd, although I did not study it with a microscope except his jock looking over his left shoulder to make sure he was not going to be run over on the rail. Justify is a legitimately good horse, slop long and short and then fast track long. That is a pretty good record, and yes, Gronkowski ran a splendid race also, I will take either one, thank you.
