Quicksilver Farm is moving to Charleston, SC

Just found out that we will be relocating our family and Welsh hunter pony breeding operation from NE Ohio to Charleston, SC this coming summer! We are so excited and have begun the hunt for a new place. I was born and raised in the South, so I am so very happy to be returning! We are actively looking for a new home/farm and will begin transitioning ponies to our new location as soon as possible. All of our stallions, broodmares, show prospects and youngsters will be moving with us - it will be quite the undertaking! I would love to hear from others in the area with advice on farriers, vets, feed/tack stores and if you know of any horse properties for sale. Thanks in advance for any help!

So happy for you!!!

Buh-bye snow!!!

Closer to us!!! Yeah!!!

Congratulations!

I am in the process of closing up shop in NM and moving my operation to Columbia SC, so we will be neighbors!

I have always wanted to visit Charleston, so I will bring a housewarming gift when you get settled!

John Malark, DVM He has Edisto Equine. Simply the best.

I have heard that Shambley is a good vet also.

I have lots of relatives in Charleston so i know the city pretty well. Lots of horsie stuff. Don’t know any farriers that go that far up from where I live.

I assume you’ll be near Summerville.

I live just outside Charleston. Let me know or PM me if you need any info. Daughter (up through the pony ranks and now and adult) rides with a local barn that has lots of pony kids. Do you have a preference for an area near Charleston (north, south or west) or are you open to any area?

Sincere congratulations! While not horse related, Sunset beach is close by and worth visiting on a regular basis. Great place to go when you need down time but close enough to get home in time to feed the ponies.

Congrats Melinda! I am jealous!

Thanks everyone! We are very excited - especially as we look out the window now at our 6 inches of snow (just the beginning) and temps in the 20s! We are looking at areas near Summerville - husband’s job is in North Charleston. Laurie, I look forward to your visit!! Once we get settled, you are all invited to stop by!

I live about an hour south of your current location ( just at the southern edge of the snow belt) so I can truly appreciate ( and relay to the rest of the folks) what a huge climate change this is! Quicksilver Farms is located in the true ‘heart’ of the snow belt- one of the snowiest places in the country I believe. They will get a foot… and we will get a dusting- just an hour south.

A move to SC is like heaven!!! Good Luck.

AFTER you pick me up! :D!

Congratulations! So happy for you.

Awesome! Welcome back to the south and I’ll be seeing you in Charleston! A great place to set up.

Congratulations!!
