Quidam de Revel - Line Breeding

Does anyone have experience with line breeding with Quidam de Revel? New to this whole world of breeding and found a stallion that I’m really interested in but they both carry Quidam. My mare is very much a leg/push ride so a little more blood would be welcome but don’t wont to lose out on too much rideability or amateur friendly.

Here’s a link to the test mating which shows Quidam in the 4th generation - is this too close?

Not sure if this link will work

Nothing to contribute, but following with interest as I was going to post the exact same question today. Timely thread for me!

There are quite a few pedigrees where breeders doubled down on QdR. Horsetelex is updating right now, so I can’t verify performance results.

Doubling Alme is quite fashionable right now, think VDL Gaultier (ex. Boogie Boy d’Ive) and Taloubet, who are Baloubet du Rouet-Quidam de Revel, if I recall correctly.

This horse doesn’t look like he suffered from the cross: http://sporthorse-data.com/d?i=10233489

I am actively seeking a stallion to linebreed to Alme with too. But my mare is not QDR, so I haven’t researched that specifically.

Thank-you! Very interesting and helpful article, especially the part about Voltaire and how he has virtually no line breeding. Would be interested in hearing thoughts on doubling up on Voltaire - there’s another stallion I’m interested who’s dam sire is Voltaire so would be doubling up on him

I’ve avoided doubling Voltaire as he had a rotated fore and knowing my luck, I’d get that in the foal. So I avoid doubling Furioso line altogether, just well, because …you know luck.
