R.I.P Theatrical

I was sad to see this. I always thought he was a grand horse. I am glad he had such a long and evidently happy life.

Thanks for posting this. So sorry to hear. Loved him, and loved to follow his line as well - especially English Channel, who was by a Theatrical daughter. Fitting that a daughter of his, Channel Lady, had a nice win today at Saratoga, and Bill Mott, his last trainer, won the Woodward.

RIP, he lived to be a grand old age.

Here is a video of his greatest triumph, the 1987 Breeders Cup Turf, where the favourite, the Prix de l’Arc winner Trempolino, loomed up next to him at the top of the stretch and took the lead and looked like he was going to fly on by by, but Theatrical dug deep and retook the lead and hung on for the win. Such a great race.
He had an amazing 5yo season in 1987, winning 6 G1s.
His career in the breeding shed wasn’t shabby either.

Peaceful Rest

Hi All,
I’ve loved everything about Theatrical through the years. His gutsy performances, his poise, his looks, his breeding, and what he sired as a stallion.

Here, indeed, was a HORSE. Gallop on Theatrical!
