Racking Horse Bit? Training help?

I don’t smoke anything the most powerful drug I take regularly is Ibuprophin.

We have clearly reached impasse, here, on the issue of gait training. I’ve said all that needs to be said.

On the original question, the horse needs to learn to yeild to the bit. Adding bit authority can make the job go faster, but it can also lead to reliance on the extra “iron authority.” That latter result is problematical.

So teach the horse to yield and you will set in on the road to becoming a good equine citizen.

YOU’ve said all that needs to be said, eh?

Whatever would us humble masses do without you to guide us on our blind way.

You’ll just have to be guided by the shade of Joe Webb. Or whoever.

For all those concerned about my expreience with gaited horses should know a bit more about the situation.
I am a border was well at the barn, and do eventing on my TB, whom I have trained off the track for the past two years. I have taken an abused and neglected quarter horse who shied away at human touch and turned out a happy and confident horse that is loved and adored but her three year old caretaker. I am no novice at knowing when I have my part in things and when I need the help of others. The owner of Kenzie wants only her horse to be happy while being ridden and to enjoy it as muchas herself. She would like to mount and dismount safely, have a good solid walk, and learnt he manners of the trail. If her horse can learn to place his feet in the steps of a gait along the way, all the better. And I am sure from the amount of feedback I have recieved along with the aforementioned book Ziegler’s “Easy Gaited Horses”, I am confident in myself to get the horse where she needs to be to live a happy life on the trail.
I will respond to everyone else’s feedback when I have more time, and thank you so much for sending me your input. I am so very grateful you have no idea. I just feld that this issue should be cleared up first and foremost.
Thanks so much!!!
