Raising a Colt

Exactly. There are way more inconsistencies with all this than any 1 person likely knows - who’s got time to do that much sleuthing?! And no, when 1 personality rips me a new one every time there’s a disagreement, much less when corrected with factual evidence, and knowing that person is the same as another one I have pleasantly interacted with for 21 years now (omg), that old timer will never get another ounce of my attention again. The other 2 that I’m nearly certain of will also not get any of my attention - others can have at it.

Anyone I have seen do this has not had completely different personalities with each ID.

That is the root of the problem - the fact that PB is so confrontational and rude, on a regular basis, to a few members (at least in the Health forum, who knows how many others are the regular punching bag for her in Racing, Off Course, Off Topic, I just don’t go there but know s/he does), is the real issue. Otherwise, I couldn’t care less if there are 4 pleasant people hiding out behind the same set of fingers.

No. I am just me. I don’t have time to play multiple personality games. I have a fulltime job, an 18 n a 7 yr old, dogs, horses, cats, a husband, kids n friends that I have to make time for. If someone wants to pretend to be me, can they come take over some of my chores while they’re at it please???

I think if we go about demanding that people reveal why they have more experience and education and knowledge than vets a lot of glass houses on this BB are going to shatter. I don’t agree with someone having a bunch of alters to argue with themselves, but I also don’t agree with people attacking all vets everywhere as uneducated, without explaining why they are more educated.

Sorry, I 100% agreed with whomever Palm Beach actually is in that thread. Palm Beach had a good question, why does someone think that they are more qualified than a vet about nutritional issues? If we are asked to believe that a vet’s education leaves them as inadequate to answer our feed questions, why should we believe that someone else is? It goes to taking advice from internet strangers that are just made up alters living in glass houses. I don’t agree with Palm Beach having alters, but You can’t attack a poster with a history they made up to sound important without coming clean about why you think you’re qualified to make everyone listen to you!

My notifications got pretty high(upwards to 50)one time when I made a statement in a thread that a few people disagreed with and they got rude and snarky with me. Although the thread had calmed down when I logged in I saw that I had a bunch of notifications, when I clicked on them they were gone/didn’t exist.

Some or all of the people that were pissed off at me and had gotten rude and snarky decided to “like” some of my posts many times and then took the likes away by “unliking” them. What their purposes were by doing this I have no idea but it certainly proves that they are indeed “Mean Girls” and always have been. At least one of them is posting on this thread quite a bit. Funny how some pick and point out other people’s behaviour when their’s is just as bad if not worse.

This BB isn’t even a shadow of what it once was 10 years ago. The type of behavior you describe is tolerated now aways because it’s sensationalist and draws more views. Better to get negative attention than no attention, yes?

Folks who post hundred, even thousands of replies are suspect for multiple SNs on any forum. I’ve been stalked by trolls that then cross over to real life. It ain’t fun, but it sure is revealing. If you encounter one, you can spot that type of behavior from a mile away.

There’s more than one on this board with multiple screen names. They reply to themselves under different personas. Why is it tolerated? Because bulletin board traffic is the way you sell ad space.

And traffic for the sake of traffic alone drives off valid participants.

And therein starts the decline of once-great-forums. Because “Hey, it’s free. If you don’t like it, you can leave”.
So folks do.

Thats quite disturbing!

I figured that there are quite a few that are multiples. I see many that only pop up once in awhile and when they do it’s usually to cause a problem or a train wreck, obviously some of them do it because they get their kicks out of it.

You can be mean to me, but please hold off on the crucifiction of my alleged alters.

Mean Girls are Mean Girls.

Rather than actually being all of those people, is it possible PB is either trolling, or been hacked?

Yes to A, no to B.

Well at least your honest about that question.

And now we know, straight from the source.

Maybe your next alter should be Sybil? As if we in the racing didn’t already have enough reason to ignore her holier than though BS!

Okay so since it’s been handled. Can I ask about Smokey cream dun roan horses? I forget where I saw someone post about one, but it looked an awful lot like a perlino to me and when I tried to google I was just getting information about the creme gene, not the specific coat. Is Smokey cream dun roan a legit coat? If so, what kind of breeding goes into it? Or is it just another name for a smokey cream?

I vote no you can not ask.

Well, each of those can exist on their own - so yes - with dun and roan being involved and then add a double dilute to get smoky cream, it is possible.

Or someone is just confused and hoping their horse is as exotic as possible.

I am confused - by all the alters nonsense. How can people keep track of all this? You would have to have multiple windows open, one for each alter - and make sure you did not reply as yourself when an alter was posting in that particular thread. And when you screwed up…

I had another screen name here - and then there was some kind of a board move/adjustment many years ago. I could no longer seem to log in under that name so started this one. I have enough trouble posting as me (the mighty smoofox) - never mind an extra 2 or 3 alters.

I had similar happen to me.
Long ago I signed up to ask about a saddle for sale.
I never did ask, found one somewhere else.
Never did post and some years passed.
Then I tried to log in to post, there had been some changes and someone else had my previous name?
I think because I had never used it, maybe it was considered invalid and let someone else have it?
At that time is when I started with my current name, years ago.

As for colors, best I know, there are some basic colors, sorrel being a basic recessive gene.
Then there are dilutes of basic colors, double dilutes and color modifiers.
Dunalinos are one such double dilute.

I am not sure we are quite clear yet how all those options function, but learning more every day.

May ought to ask those color questions in the breeder’s forum.
They are more up to date on horse colors.

"There’s more than one on this board with multiple screen names. They reply to themselves under different personas. Why is it tolerated? Because bulletin board traffic is the way you sell ad space. "

Pathetic.
