Rambo Quarter Sheet and Monoflap Saddle

Those of you who have a monoflap saddle and use a quarter sheet, how do you do it? With my old Stubben I would have the Rambo quarter sheet under the saddle flap, can’t really do that anymore.

I could either have it sit under my leg or has anyone put it between the pad and the saddle? Maybe that would work? Only thing is you cant remove it mid ride.

Thanks,
Marc

I just put it over the saddle flap and remove it when I’m ready by just pulling it out from under my leg. Works fine.

Depends on the temp. I will do what racehorse people do if it is cold enough to use the quarter sheet the whole ride. You put the quarter sheet over the saddle pad, then fold the bottom corners back under the saddle flap (works just fine with a monoflap or regular flap) so there is room for your leg to touch the horse. Like this but with a saddle:

Otherwise I will put it over top of my legs, too and then just take it off after we have walked around for 15 minutes and maybe done a touch of trotting.

This. I have a monoflap and my quarter sheet has the velcro in front, so I just tuck it underneath my stirrup leathers and make sure the velcro part is in front of my saddle. It stays in place just fine…even on days when I choose to lunge him first.

Yup. Over flap, under stirrup leathers on most days (and taken off post-warmup); between saddle and pad on the bitter cold days (left on for the entirety of short, easy, arctic rides).

It’s not as elegant a solution as putting it between the saddle flap and sweat flap, but it works alright.

Ok, just what I had figured. Thanks all!

I put it under the flap, but hate the extra bulk under my leg. I’ve found that the best option for avoiding the bulk is the Back on Track quarter sheet, the material that goes under the saddle/leg is different and much thinner than that which goes over the horse.
