Rapid-Groom -- yay or neigh?

For years, I’ve been at barns where an Electro-Groom was available for all to use. I’ve gotten accustomed to a grooming routine of curry, vacuum, brush, and I’ve gotten used to having a beautifully turned out horse every time I ride. But I just moved my horse to a barn where there is no vacuum and I’m lamenting that I can’t get my horse as clean as I’m used to. (We have the level of dust that only a bath or vacuum will fully remove.)

I’ve been given the go ahead by DH to buy myself a Rapid-Groom for Christmas. Question for the COTH hive mind – will I regret this purchase, as in regret buying the Rapid-Groom specifically? TIA!

When I showed halter horses many years ago, I used a shop vac with high suction power. It worked incredibly well.

I’m worried a shop vac will be too loud for horses in neighboring groom stalls. I know the Electro-Groom (and therefore the Rapid-Groom) are not super quiet, but they’re not as loud as a shop vac.

It works similarly to the big one. Obviously would need emptying more often since it’s smaller.

Let us now celebrate a sister, one of our own, who is but a nozzle’s reach from attaining Clean Horsie Nirvana.

And you, dear poster, go in joy. Empty Big Blue’s bags frequently. Protect her from rust. Buff her with car wax once a year. Wave to us, the dust-smeared wretched, from time to time.

Alas indeed! We’re talking not the $1100 big blue one but its poorer cousin. Still, what in the world am I waiting for…!!!

The poorer cousin is quite a nice machine! Superior to any of the other “portable” models I have used over the years.

I have the Double K one. It’s OK, but not as good as the Rapid Groom.
