Just spoke with the WEG office (Julie, really nice and helpful, at 859-255-2010) about entry/re-entry to the WEG grounds. As she explained it (and as COTH oldnewbie confirmed), each event ticket automatically includes a grounds general admissions. If you hold more than one event ticket (for example on the Thursday/Friday dressage days of Three Day Eventing there are two separate ticket events: morning dressage, and then afternoon eventing dressage at 1:30 pm).
She recommended only have the morning ticket scanned, then you may leave the grounds to go to your car mid-day, then re-enter on your separate afternoon ticket. This will help us tremendously on Thurs/Fri for meals at the car. Looks like we’ll have to buck up and pay through the nose for food for Saturday and Sunday. Now it will just be a question of how much time it will take during the lunch break to go back and forth from the grounds to the car. Also, the bike racks are across from Legacy Trail, not close to the entrance, so no advantage to bringing a bike to get around the parking lot. 
Also, no she said no folding chairs are allowed for Saturday XC. She said I could bring a cane chair for the Senior Citizen who will be with me, but if you don’t have “special needs,” I would call and check in advance, to be safe.
