Really, Dressage Hub?

Hunter rider here but I had a fb run in a few years ago with this [person]! She posted on a friends page and got seriously roasted, [edit]!!!

Anybody who disagrees with her or points out when she’s wrong is accused of “bullying” her. And despite being a self-professed “social media expert” she clearly has no understanding of the difference between engagement and clickbait. And as for increasing her “influence,” in influence marketing and social media management the “influencer” has to be widely liked, respected and credible within the targeted community in order to have any value. Every rant, every petty vendetta, every nasty post makes her more toxic to riders, sponsors and advertisers.

Clicks and site traffic are no measure of success when they are due to posts that damage your credibility, reputation and brand. It’s like rubberneckers at a car wreck - people can’t help looking. Rather than being gleeful about the number of clicks she should be on the phone explaining her behaviour to other clients and trying to convince them not to dump her. Given this pattern of behaviour in an industry built entirely on public perception and repuation, no credible social media business could stay afloat for long.

During the Canadian kerfuffle this winter one of my friends shared a post from SW’s personal page in which she boasted that it was a CDI 5* weekend and everyone was talking about her instead of the show, using the hashtag #winning. Personally, if everyone was talking about how unprofessional, nasty and delusional I was and my professional reputation was going down the toilet due to my own actions, I would call that #losing.

No, she’s way worse, she actually causes real problems for real people.

I’m curious, how good is her riding, what level does she ride at to be this judgmental? How educated is her eye?

I would LOVE to see a video of her riding.

? who knows?

I am not interested in how well she rides or doesn’t ride. Makes no difference to me and I think going there is a little petty.

I know on her page when she talks about when she was attacked (her attackers were arrested for a different crime but there was not enough evidence to arrest them for the crime against her) and that several of her friends used her injuries to destroy/take over her business.

I have not seen any evidence of SJ bullying SW. If anything, SJ had a rough introduction to the world of social media and entering into verbal agreements with people. Besides the FB post SJ made when the FB page with her personal name on it was taken by SW and used to pursue an agenda I have not seen her comment. Most of the SJ v. SW battle went down on the now dead UDBB.

I have seen multiple other riders comment on FB, especially over the Canadian team issue a month or two ago. Susan W’s personal FB page is open and available for people to read if they want to get her story.

I also think it’s a struggle, you are a pro and people are going to film you and say nasty things. At what point do you ignore it and at what point is it harassment or harming your business and what do you do about it?

It was such an odd thing, I remember when the FB page was hijacked. really creepy

I never understood exactly if the clinics ok’d her videotaping the rides and posting them. SW claims its ok because its in a public venue… a bit of a grey area and didn’t seem exactly 100% on the up and up . Esp now that she attacks riders using her FB page…and steals other videos. (which I had no knowledge of until now)

That was me! Laura Ashley Killian and MS Spanish Legacy. Not sure what you wanted to say/know about us, but feel free to reach out to me on facebook or via email (LauraAshleyDressage@gmail.com)

Here’s Susan wachowich talking about the situation. https://soundcloud.com/susan-wachowich/untitled-28
18 minutes of talking…

Here’s my recap:
Dec 12, 2012 Launched channel. Went “viral”. Because Susan Jaccoma already had a decent following.

  • Handshake deal of $500 worth of lessons per month. (no mention of what Jaccoma charges per lesson).
  • Show season starts and wachowich’s horse went lame, so she wasn’t taking lessons.
  • talks about Mary, who was editing video’s, as being hard to deal with and really crappy at her job.

May 2012, per wachowich, she sends Jaccoma a “price list” of what she wants to charge Jacomma for doing stuff.

  • No contracts. no agreement to this.
  • Wachowich starts blogging with Horse Junkies United and starts using Jaccoma’s videos as content.

Summer 2012, Jaccoma tells wachowich she can’t afford her pricing. Jaccoma asks for a contract to take to her lawyer.

  • Wachowich talks about Kim, the barn owner. Calls her a “miserable b**ch”.
  • Barn owner saw Jacccoma’s video’s on Dressage Hub. wachowich took Jaccoma’s logos off the videos, but claimed it was okay because there were links to the original.
  • wachowich said “I launched my channel, put her videos on there”

Sept 2012, wachowich is stating Jaccoma owes her money based on the May pricing list. (Which Jaccoma had flat out said she couldn’t afford, and didn’t agree to.)

  • wachowich still stating that they are trading lessons for this.
  • She’s using Jaccoma’s content to furnish her Horse Junkies blog, Mainstreet, Dressage Hub, etc. content.
  • wachowich states that she’s going to charge Jaccoma full price for the months where Jaccoma’s video’s are NOT posted to the rest of wachowich sites (which wachowich satated she started posting the videos in May). Half price for months she posted to wachowich’s sites (May through Sept).
  • She’s stating at this point it’s $7,500 in fee’s.
  • She stated $2,500 in lessons was paid from Dec to May 2012.(Jaccoma sent her an itemized listing of every lesson, with dates, from beginning of this to May).
  • wachowich is stating she only had 5 lessons between May and Sept. Jaccoma said 10. (Jaccoma who was keeping an itemized listing of lessons vs wachowich who can’t remember).
  • wachowich is saying that even if it were 10 lessons, then Jaccoma still owes her $6,500.
    (unclear how we went from total of $7,500 - 2,500 - 10 more lesson = 6,500)

Sept 27, 2012 ish - Jaccoma tries to change her social media passwords and is locked out. Jaccoma confronts wachowich about it. Wachowich tells her she won’t release the accounts until Jaccoma pays her (Wachowhich doesn’t say what amount is owed yet).
----Jaccoma’s version is that Wachowich was posting inappropriate video’s to her sites, and Jaccoma asked her not to. Wachowich got mad and refused to remove the inappropriate content.

Wachowich talks about complaint board.

  • wachowich said she’s going to slander one of the people who posted products. She’s going to black mail her with a video (not sure what that referred to).

Wachowich’s ramblings at the end:
Barn owner kicked wachowich out.
PS Dressage pulled her videos and no longer allowed her to blog.
It’s a conspiracy.
3 months of constant bullying. she said they get drunk every night and bully her. (“they” - not sure who “they” are).

Jaccoma said the project didn’t officially start until Nov 2012,that she provided wachowich with free lessons since Feb 2012. And that wachowich gave her a bill at the end for $8,000 (which is close to the amount I saw Wachowich post too). The timelines don’t match up between the two versions.

And, somehow we went from $7,500 - $2,500 in lesson - another 10 lessons = $8,000.
Wachowich stated in the clip above that Jaccoma owed $6,500 when Jaccoma was locked out and the partnership ended.

That’s directly from Wachowich on how the situation went down.

I like that this person was someone who was good enough to train with and to provide positive content for her site…until she didn’t like her anymore (ie SJ wouldn’t allow herself to be robbed).

and then she was an awful hack who needed to be stalked and bullied.

Yeah, I’ve been there.

I love the horse industry.

Wow. She’s pretty dumb if any of that sounds reasonable to her. I do hope she’s reading this. She needs some serious mental health assistance, a remedial math class, and has some growing up to do. Very hard to believe.

[edit]

if she actually does have a TBI that explains something, but she should be more closely monitored?

In what way is questioning her self-described “authority” on the subject “petty?” [edit] This behavior most certainly DOES beg the question of her ability on a horse. And something about her being physically attacked? She lies like a rug, so who knows if that is true? Was it brought up as an explanation as to why she’s not out there riding and training and putting herself in the public eye for idiots like her to criticize? No sorry, that’s not petty. It’s a very good question.

I wasn’t aware of any TBI - must have missed that post.

OMG.

BTW she still has posts up that talk about how great Susan J is. Maybe she has forgotten everywhere that she posted/blogged.

Well, I went to look at her FB. One of the signs of a FB group that means something to people is the quantity and quality of the comments. These are very sparse. If I knew nothing about the background I’d say marginal [edit]. Knowing what I do now, I say all that plus mean and a troll.

Except she’s had the dog since sometime after the assault in Edmonton, as it was pictured in the previously posted article.

The accusation in the post on DH with the link to this article was the first post that tipped me off to the crazy and was about a week or two prior to the full out war she had with the Canadian team members this year.

And asking for $2.00 per month to watch the videos.
