Really easy Black Eyed Susan recipe?

Anyone have a really easy & good Black Eyed Susan recipe with not too much of a hard liquor taste? (Mint Juileps are disgusting, imo!)

I don’t have too many liquor supplies here (just a bottle of Jameson’s for when I make Baileys, wine & beer) and don’t really want to buy much, if possible, as it won’t get used.

Thanks.

Buy seeds from nursery. Plant in soil. Water and wait.

Oh, there’s a drink by the same name?

Apparently they got a new sponsor and changed the recipe. It has to be better than the regular with the bourbon. http://www.preakness.com/preakness-tradition/black-eyed-susan-official-drink-preakness

Sorry to get back to this so late! Thanks for the humor, Peggy! Thanks Laurie!

(Since I’m on the sidelines with this #@%&+! back injury, I’m having to find ways to entertain myself.). I’ve decided my Derby julep is going to be mojitos as those juleps are hideous. I made the Black Eyes Susan’s yesterday. I realized I’m not feeling hard liquor anymore (maybe cause I haven’t had any for years, too.). I made a non-alcohol one today with a little less OJ and added a bit of seltzer. It was great.

Happy Preakness to all.

Love it (from above link) - “Take vodka, rum, whiskey, bourbon, . . .Then dump it on the infield grass and get a real drink.”

Yep, life is too short to drink gruesome drinks. I’m going to make these the Sonomacounty way. Memories of what you get when you follow the real recipes makes me gag. Now I have to learn how to make the orange peel & olive flower.
