Rebecca Farm and Covid (my hat is off to you).

Now that there is the possibility that the AEC’s may be in jeopardy due to Covid-19 cases at KHP and the movement of the disease back into the mid-west, I want to express something.

THANK YOU to Rebecca Farm and how they handled all of us whacky Eventers in the time of a pandemic. They were absolutely on top of the social distancing, wearing masks, making sure that we were regularly reminded of our responsibilities, all while running a wonderful horse trial. The sheriff’s department was at the gate EVERY DAY to make sure all attendees were masked and had their temp checked. They had a lovely pair of ladies continually prowling the stabling reminding us to mask up! Sure it was a pain at times, but we all knew that they were doing a tough job in a tough time. And we all appreciated it.

Yes, they limited Entry numbers and only had national divisions. That enabled us to really be able to have the social distancing AND it also allowed us to truly enjoy what Rebecca Farm is in terms of a horse facility. I never left the property from day one (Wednesday morning), until I left on Sunday. But everyday I could go out and hack miles of mowed tracks in gorgeous fields as if I had the place to myself.

I heard a few gripes but they were weak at best. Everyone seemed to know that we were there to ride and the requisite protocols required were MINOR compared to losing our riding privileges. 😉

Take this as a tip of my hat to Eventers as well! We all know that riding is a privilege and we will do what it takes to keep the competitions going.
