Recent Experience with Tad Coffin Saddle Orders?

Hi - I’m wondering if anyone here has ordered a saddle from Tad Coffin within the last year and would be willing to share their experience, particularly around the timeline and communication.

I put down a deposit several months ago and understand that Tad is running behind, but I haven’t received an estimated completion date yet. I completely respect that high-quality craftsmanship takes time, and I know things can get delayed, especially with a small operation. That said, I’m just trying to get a sense of what others have experienced recently so I can set my expectations accordingly.

You’ll just need to be patient unfortunately. They will not give you a date. I love Tad and have been a customer since the beginning. I recently ordered panels replaced for my saddle, and it was a year long process. Not a lot of communication, although I tried to check in pretty regularly. It’s totally worth it in the end, but the process will be frustrating unless you just remove all expectations on timing.

Agree with CBoylen. They are excellent saddles, but you have to be patient. I sent an old one to him once to be repaneled. It took months but saddle was perfect and it was completely worth it and not all that expensive.
