Is anything being done to try to stop these spammers? They went from non existent to all over the place! :eek:
We’ve definitely noticed the same thing! I just sent a note to the main office to see if we’ve done anything different that would make us more attractive to them lately/if there’s something more we can do to keep them off.

Actually just a couple weeks ago we saw the same thing on the falconry forum. Guess it’s kinda like lovebug season LOL.

Just nailed two more accounts.
This past week, we’ve been manually combing through new registrations to try to weed out the spammers that get through our automated blocks before they get a chance to hit the forums.
It looks to be helping, and we’d rather spend the time on the front end to hopefully thwart a good portion of them, than clean up the mess after they’ve left their trash all over the forum and bothered all the people who shockingly don’t come here to find Asian escorts, discount Tory Burch and stolen credit card info!
We do have the option of having all new accounts require moderator approval, or other similar restrictions, before they can post, but we’re hoping to avoid interventions that will be a major inconvenience for the genuine new users who’d like to join and start using the site right away.
