I am ready to go cordless but there are so many options! They are all rated similarly…so I need any help I can get!
Emphatic yes - i do i do!
The past few years we have been focusing on adding to our collection of Makita battery powered tools - and at the end of fall we picked up a Makita blower.
I love it. Get one. They are awesome. The blowing goes for 15-20 btwn charges, so it’s a good idea to have extra batteries / chargers depending on what you need to do. I can blow my barn aisle all week on one charge easy.
Since we run a lot of the same type of tools, we’ve got 2 double rechargers going and a whack of batteries. LOVE THEM.
I 2nd the Makita blower. Ours has a dial where we can change the strength as needed. Multiple extra batteries as hubs and I both use it for different tasks and helps ensure there’s always a set of full batteries ready to go when needed.
I have a Ryobi one that works so well, I bought a second one to use in the garage and around the house. My first one is 5 years old and still going strong. It is in the barn so it gets used hard and not always treated well by my partner (he’s hard on tools), but it keeps working.
Also had a Makita one. In fact we’ve had three as once you’ve invested in the system, if a single tool goes bad, you feel you have to get another to take advantage of the batteries/chargers you already have. Once the third blower died, after replacing batteries and charger as well, I’m done with those. I do still have the Makita tools (cordless drill, sander, driver) and they work great but I won’t get another blower to go with the system at all.
This is the Ryobi one I have (didn’t want the link to keep my other post from showing up): https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-155-MPH-300-CFM-40-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Jet-Fan-Blower-2-6-Ah-Battery-and-Charger-Included-RY40411/204589655#product_description
We have two now very old Black and Decker ones that are still going strong.
Our current battery operated tools are Milwaukee ones, have several batteries for those.
When the old blowers die I expect we may get that kind, since we already have those batteries.
ANY of them are great to have.
I have the Ryobi cordless blower. Love, love, love it!
I’ve purchased a few Ryobi things lately, it started with the air cannon (I heart that thing like whoa), then iadded the handy little tire inflator thingy, that is da bomb for all the tires, then a sweeper ((a lower power blower) and Home Depot has a deal through the 29th where you buy a kit with a charger, two 3ah batteries* a storage bag and you get a tool for free (kit was $99). I got an impact driver, but I’m pretty sure the real deal blower was on the list.
*3ah batteries aren’t that long lived, but I already have a couple 6ah batteries
My friend has the Milwaukee blower. Batter powered and super lightweight/powerful. She loves it.
We have an assortment of Kobalt battery tools from Lowe’s, blower being one. I can’t speak to its longevity as it hasn’t been around too long but I am very happy with it (and the 40V chainsaw)!
