Recipe change to Newman's Own Grain Free Organic Canned?

I know the label has changed in recent months. Had a stock pile of the old label canned food, photos of them holding what looked like wirehaired terriers. It was the beef/ liver organic canned food.

Bought the new ‘grain free’ can, beef flavor, photo of a shaggy white dog on the front. In the first few ingredients they now list carageenan and guar gum. Both of which, to my knowledge, are fillers. Smells funky. Dog who eats poop isnt’ excited about it. However, my precious lotus flower barely touched the old recipe, but we managed. Can anyone offer any advice? I’m off to search the website for specifics. If anyone can confirm or deny this change, not that it’s just applicable to the beef flavor, I’d be obliged.

In the mean time, what canned grain free organic do you feed YOUR dog?

The dog gets kibble, but the cats get Before Grain 96% chicken. They make a canned beef for dogs, too, if that’s what you’re looking for. I’m not sure, however, if it’s organic.

I can’t help on getting Precious to eat the new food, but guar gum and carrageenan aren’t fillers, but thickeners and stabilizers. It keeps the dogfood from separating and makes it more gelatinous. If it’s high up in the ingredients list, it must mean that the bulk of the food is made up of meats.

StG

Fillers, thickeners, ick. Still doesn’t need to be in there.

Good news is, since it seems to be discontinued, all the local stores have slashed their prices on this by 50%… I’m cleaning out all the shelves in the area!
