Our pony’s clock finally ran down (well aged), so my son is going to start riding a friends pony. New pony is a halflinger cross, and certainly built like one. Nothing we have fits this pony.
Recommended saddles for fat barrel shaped pony, Youth size, synthtic preference.

Duett, although I am not sure that they make a synthetic. They are good saddles for the price point and hold their value well. Nancy is great to work with. I just sold a 38 cm Duett with a 16" seat late last year that I had bought for my son and his pony…
I am assuming you mean western. If so, consider an Abetta. I have an Abetta Arabian tree that would likely work for a Halflinger, but I think they might make Halflinger trees too. Very light, reasonably comfortable. The only think I didn’t like is the stirrups, so I just ordered new ones.
Shoot, forgot this was the Western forum! Well, the same mare that had the Duett now has a Circle Y Flex2 Cottonwood Trail saddle in the xwide tree. Horsesaddleshop.com has online saddle tree templates you can cut out and check out on your horse to see what size tree will be best for your horse. Their customer service reps can make suggestions, and you can search saddles by wide width.

I have a short stubby QH build like a haffie. This saddle is a dream.
Fabtron makes a synthetic haflinger saddle. It’s gotten good reviews.
