Hmmm, Diamond Hit. I used him on my leggy, modern Romancero /Wenzel/Weltmeyer, hoping to retain the legginess and beautiful R-line head, but add a bit of substance and bigger butt. It worked - a lovely, modern filly with 3 good gaits, great temperament. I sold the mare, rebred to DH, and she produced another filly for the new owner, who is retaining her for the mareband. I don’t think DH necessarily adds height, but should meet all other wishes.
ohhhh, Diamond Hit!!! Love him! Kathleen, where did you buy the frozen for him?
RSW, that is a magnificent baby! Congratulations!
Shari, Floriscount has a lighter build even though he is tall. Why don’t you try our dose of Fackeltanz? It is already at Dr. Ley’s in your tank. I agree with Nancy that Furstenball did not add bone on our filly either.
I have seen some fabulous Solos Landtinus foals so for a lighter mare, I think he is very interesting but an expensive stud fee I think. Even more than using frozen last time I checked.
Diamond Hit might give you a shorter front leg than you would wish, but should be very rideable and a good dressage horse.
Like Marne’s idea of Fackeltanz. There is a Fackeltanz/Rohdiamont/De Niro colt selected for the Oldenburg Licensing this November. Saw a couple photos and he looks quite nice. Have not seen so many Fackeltanz foals, but I believe in the dam line and think they should make excellent riding horses. The line breeding Diamond Hit/Sir Donnerhall does not excite me, especially for a keeper filly. I used Diamond Hit on my Rubinstein mare this year, but she has yet to produce a foal that did not end up 17.0 hands. I would worry a bit about height with DH and have been advised not to use DH on a hotter mare.
Fackeltanz is another excellent idea! Marne, you are incredibly generous to offer me your dose! Hopefully Etta will inherit her mom’s great fertility. So many great ideas, thank you!

Yeah, I was mainly thinking of a stallion with a bit of substance who has proven to produce good performance horses (e.g., the 3 DH offspring at the Dev Horse Championships).
Shari - how is the mare “hot” under saddle? Is she spooky? Too reactive to leg? Too intense? Easily flustered if she makes a mistake? Wanting to “take control”? (My mare is a bit like this. She likes to think she knows what you want - “oh, half pass? Here you go - zoom! Walk pirouette? Here you go - zoom!”).

Chris, she is very forward and go-ey and somewhat reactive to outside stimuli but not at all spooky. She went from living in a herd 24/7 to now coming into a stall at night and that has helped make her less interested in what her friends are doing when she’s being ridden. Magnesium supplementation has also helped her quite a bit as well. She may just need more time under saddle to relax in her work as she does seems to have an intense desire to please. She is the nicest young horse I have ever had in terms of ground manners and has never done anything bad under saddle, she just seems nervous and quick which wll hopefully dissipate with more mileage.
