Recommendations for general horse care book?

I want to get a book for a friend as a Christmas gift. I am hoping for one entirely about horse care, safety, grooming, barn mgt, tack, etc. The focus shouldn’t be riding or training. She is an adult that has been riding for a while, and rode as a kid, but missed the opportunity to learn via the barn rat kid method.

I was actually thinking about the Pony Club Manual. I have heard “A Horse of Your Own” newer edition is not so great, but it was my best reference in 1970s. Something along those lines.

The Pony Club manuals are always good. There are three of them now, at three different levels. If you’re getting only one for someone who already has some horse knowledge, I’d get the intermediate or C level book. D might be too basic and the C3-A book too involved. All three cover the same subjects, just at different levels.

I also think Cherry Hill’s “Horse Care for Kids” is a pretty good book. I’m not sure if she has an adult version or not.
