Recommended vets in Southern Pines, NC area

Hi all, I’m planning to get a horse vetted in Southern Pines, NC in a few weeks and am looking for a reputable vet to do the pre-purchase exam. The seller recommended Jim Hamilton from Southern Pines Equine Associates or Bri Gindlesperger, who appears to go by Elizabeth Susen on the Carolina Equine Clinic website. Does anyone in that area know anything about these vets or have anyone else they would recommend? Thanks in advance.

Bri has recently started her own practice - I think it’s called Breezeway Sporthorse Clinic. I haven’t had her do a PPE, but she’s done all of my horses’ routine stuff for several years and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Mitch Byrd.

PMed you

we use Jim Hamilton as our regular vet. Haven’t ever used him for PPE, but he’s fabulous to work with and is someone I trust implicitly. I think you can’t go wrong with him. Bri is also very well regarded in the area.

I used Edwina Little of Stars and Bars Equine for the last Pre Purchase we did. She is tough on them where expectations for soundness are concerned but fair and knows her stuff. The horse was an OTTB with a couple of years of training and she knew he was a potential 3’6 Hunter. Horse has worked out great. I definitely recommend her. Jim Hamilton has a great reputation too.

I also second Edwina. Wonderful vet.

I’ll look into her. Anyone else use Mitch Byrd? Their website says PPE’s are their priority.

PM’d you
