Recs for 16" short girth for monoflap

Looking for comfort/quality 16" short girth for a monoflap saddle. The only 16" sized ones I’ve been able to find are the neoprene girths, which rub my pony. What 16" options are out there? Ideally softer leather that won’t rub.

My pony wears a 14” and I’ve had luck buying from Flugar which is a tack shop for Icelandics. I don’t know if they have leather girths as my pony does fine with neoprene.

I used an 18” endurance style on a round Arab and never had issues with rubs.

Mohair girth looks interesting. Never seen one. Wouldn’t all the strands pinch? Or is there a liner that touches the horse? (My boy’s on the chubby side, not sure if this would pinch him).

I used it on a wide Arab and never had any rubs. I had the worst time finding a girth that worked for him and that one finally did the trick!

I’ve used mohair on other horses as well with no issues, but not in that small a size. It’s common in endurance riding and is pretty non-slip when they get sweaty.

Note that mohair is quite different than the old cheap string girths. The mohair strings are soft. Make sure you get real mohair if you decide to try it!

Oh I’ve had a time of this. I’ve had okay luck shopping consignment - most of the French brands seem to be the primary ones who make them. Mine are all belly guards so those were even harder to find.
Mattes and I think Kavalkade and Horze make fleece ones. Also try looking for 40cm girths. There are quite a few on eBay right now - there’s some used Voltaire and Devoucoux in the US, plus a couple nice looking Walhausen leather ones from the UK without bad shipping.
