Registration options for crossbred mare

Not looking to breed right now, but was hoping someone would be able to help me with potential options for registration for the potential of breeding in the far future.

Sire is by a Canadian Sporthorse stud (Dutch lines/- Popeye K/Voltaire), and mare is thoroughbred but small so not presented to sport horse inspections.

This filly is very quality, and career will be in the hunter ring. I would assume most registeries would take her once she developes a performance record and not before?

I normally wouldnt even think twice about this as I dont think crossbred mares are necessarily best for breeding, but this one as a young horse is probably one of the nicer movers I have seen in a long time. I would like it to be an option for her in the long away future incase an injury forces retirement. Excellent conformation, temperment and free jump so far at her young age. Can get sporthorse papers…just unsure about other registries?

Most registries won’t ‘register’ a horse over 2 years old. You can present her for approval as a broodmare, but if she’s not registered she will go in the lowest books. Generally, she will have to be looked at for conformation, type and gaits.

American Warmblood Registry or American Warmblood Society might register her, but most others won’t if she’s over 2, you don’t have a breeding certificate or proof of pedigree.

Some books will still register an older animial but it will just cost you alot more–do you have any of dams information, You usualy need to be able to send in the dams papers but see where popeye is approved -(KWPN, ISR/Oldenburg??) and work from there?
You can also just go with something like the performance horse registry–which is basically I understand a recording/DNA registry but the leading jumper breeder in the NA (at least for a while have not checked lately) uses it and the horses still win GPs.

She does have a breeding certificate and is eligible for full canadian sport horse registration. The mare was jockey club TB, just not presented to a sport horse registry. The CSHA mares still have to be inspected at 3 years old, so this is something to happen in our future if I want to stick with that registry.

Approval to a registry is fine, I just want to open up to allow a selection of more stallions to allow a foal a decent registry if that time should ever come.

She is just 2 now, so I’m in no rush. I just havent been in a situation like this before so wanted to get as much background education as possible

Sorry, but this statement doesn’t make sense. If your filly’s dam has not been inspected by the CSHA, then your filly is not eligible for full CSHA papers.

When I talked to CSHA about part papers (which she currently has), they said if she inspects she could get full papers. Maybe I was mistaken. Im not a fan of CSHA anyway, so was hoping to go another route.

If your filly was inspected, she would get full breeding approval (F0). Full registration would be F1 or higher. Clear as mud?
