Registry with no foal inspection required?

KWPN is the only one I know of. Any other registries that do not require a foal inspection? While I want to bring foals, and appreciate the judge’s input and seeing other stock, this was really hit home for me last year when I had a mare on stall rest. She and the foal missed inspection and I had to retain the foal for an additional year so she can go this fall.

TIA!

With BWP you have a couple options - you can get your foal papers with inspection at a yearling or 2 year old. If your mare is approved BWP, foals can be registered by mail (I think you submit hair for DNA)

AHS doesn’t require it. Assuming both parents are in studbooks, registration can be done by mail and if you want branding, you can do outreach branding.

Thank you both. Mare/dam is a jumper, so either book would be a nice option. I will have to watch for the inspection schedules for 2017. Unfortunately there usually aren’t a lot of options for upper midwest. Looks like a Kansas inspection in August for AHS is closest. I don’t see dates/locations yet for BWP.

Yes, foals can be registered without inspection, sire must be BWP approved or approved by another BWP recognized studbook. Dam must be either in the main or auxiliary BWP studbook. And as mareslave stated, DNA must be submitted).

These are the locations so far for 2017, dates TBD and some more locations will probably be added. The tour runs from July 17 - August 7.

Thank you! I wish one was closer!! It’s hard to live in rodeo country and have “English” horses.

The SF does not require a foal inspection. You have to declare the foal at the central inscription service (SIRE) for most foals born in F. To be a SF, the mare has to be SF herself or be labelled (facteur SF), in this case all SF-licensed stallions are ok. If your mare belongs to a SB recognized by the WBFSH and is registered at the SIRE but not labelled (facteur SF), then you can only you SF-stallions when you want the foal to be SF himself.
The foal inspections have nothing to with the registering of the foal.

The mare is registered RPSI, which is on the WBFSH list. German Oldenburg Verband sire (Landfriese II) Selle Francais registered dam (GaloubetA). So does she need to be inspected by SF before she is bred to a SF stallion? Are there inspections in the US? I know when I owned her dam, that wasn’t available. Thanks!

AHHA does not require inspection for foal registration, as long as both parents are approved (so the mare would have to be inspected and approved, but after that, foals can be registered via mail).

SWANA doesn’t require inspection for registration.

I don’t know if there is a US-section of the SF and it is perfectly admissible if their organization differs from the French one.
here in France, the mare would have to be registered on the ‘Sport Horse list’ to be able to produce inside the SF-studbook and than only with a SF-stallion. Otherwise (non SF-stallion), the mare would have to be inspected with a minimal note. that is called ‘labelled’ …

sBs - Belgian Sporthorse. Really nice easy registry to work with. Ronda Stavisky is the North American contact I believe.

Thank you guys!! I really appreciate everyone who took time to comment.

I will be looking very closely at RPSI, AHHA and sBs schedules this summer–which seem most in line with stallions I would choose for her.
