I haven’t bothered to start my mare on Regumate this season as we are not able to ride yet but hoping to soon. Please no debate on whether necessary or not. Her latest heat cycle she rubbed herself raw so riding or no she’s going back on it for the season.
Anyone use the generic? Altren is on sale for ~$110 versus the best price I can find for Regumate is $150. Is it worth the price difference or anyone have issues with the generic versus brand?
I have not found a difference between the two!
If the concentration of altrenogest is the same, it should be fine. That was a great find, BTW. I’ve been paying $150, while my vet charges $300!
I put my mare on Regumate one summer. I found I was able to decrease the dose significantly and Still have it be effective which lowered the overall cost.
