Rein Stoppers??

Hi all!
So I have a gorgeous Schockemohle rolled snaffle bridle. It came with rolled reins that feature rein stoppers. I personally don’t like the look of rein stoppers (especially since on these rolled reins they slide and flip around). My jump bridles have rein stoppers but they’re rubber and on because I sometimes ride in a running martingale.

Do y’all just cut them off? It pains me to think of cutting something off a bridle that was hundreds of dollars but I’m sick of the rein stopper look!

Thanks!

Yup! Slide scissors under and they’ll cut right of. You’ll never miss them

I cut them off every rein they come on!

When I see them on a dressage bridle at a show it drives me crazy. Most of us don’t use martingales so they don’t have a purpose. I cut them off. Be careful about how you do it though. Sliding the scissors under may work but it also might gouge the reins leaving a deep scratch.

Just cut them off. I use a razor blade.

Ha! The second any of my trainer’s clients buy a bridle she cuts the stoppers off. She doesn’t even ask lol. I was 😳 for a second but it’s true we never miss them and they look silly to my eyes now when I see them on a bridle at a horse show

I was just wonder about this today so a timely post.
