Rein Stoppers?!

Hi all!
So I have a gorgeous Schockemohle rolled snaffle bridle. It came with rolled reins that feature rein stoppers. I personally don’t like the look of rein stoppers (especially since on these rolled reins they slide and flip around). My jump bridles have rein stoppers but they’re rubber and on because I sometimes ride in a running martingale.

Do y’all just cut them off? It pains me to think of cutting something off a bridle that was hundreds of dollars but I’m sick of the rein stopper look!

Thanks!

I don’t cut them off, but I don’t mind the way they look, either. If they’re bothering you, go for it. You can always get rubber ones if you have to.

Assuming they’re sewn on, take a very sharp razor blade or exacto knife and carefully slip it between the layers of leather and cut the stitching. This way they can be sewn back on if you ever want them

I’d remove them if you are not using a martingale. It looks sloppy. Ditto remove carefully if there is a chance you’ll change your mind.
