ReitenRight arena additive: reviews?

I am zeroing in on an arena additive for my high traffic indoor sand arena.
I have investigated crumb rubber, but I am leery of the offgassing, and the fact that it probably will not help with moisture retention.
I would love to hear from someone who has use this product, and what their experience has been.

Anybody using ReitenRight?

I was here when the BO installed crumb rubber-in the arena, and I don’t know what the off-gassing you are referring to is I do know they use Mag Chlor both as freeze preventative and dust control ( water retention).

The off gassing refers to the carcinogenic fumes from petroleum products.
Unfortunately ma won’t function well in my very arid location, since it takes water out of the atmosphere…

I have a different product in my own ring at home, but was boarding last winter at a place that added the ReitenRight to their indoor. I thought it made a nice improvement over the previous just sand/screenings that they had in there. It did not, IMO, add to moisture retention at all. They still had to water every morning and on days that they did not, it was horribly dusty (very busy ring so it dried out quick just due to all the activity). Not blaming that on the RR, just saying it didn’t help. I don’t know if they offer more than one product type, but what was used was described to me as “torn up yoga mats” and was multi-color rubber-y pieces. Because I wasn’t paying for it this time, I can’t tell you the mix they used or anything. I know that trainer has moved to another barn and is putting this same footing in, so she must be happy with it!

Thank you, this is just the kind of info I’m Looking for. The moisture retention is not the top of the list, it is just a bonus. So far so good.

The barn I board at got rubber shreds from FB Marketplace. They were removed from a climbing gym so were not new. I did not notice any weird smell with them but they weren’t new so maybe that was why. I am really really sensitive to smells.
I think the rubber really helped keep the dust down.

I wonder if you could pile them outside for a bit and turn them regularly like you would a compost pile to allow them to off-gas for a few months before you put them in the confined space of an indoor?
