Remember my MIL who we got her a cat ? well that lead to her getting a tattoo

so her cat has lead her into the wild life

MIL for her 90th birthday wanted to get a tattoo since she always
secretly wanted a tattoo but was concerned about what people thought

Well my son (who also guaranteed her that her cat would always have have a home) arranged a trip to his friend’s tattoo parlor (shop?) which turned out to be within a few bocks of her house in Dallas. (We all know Bryce from the horse show days, he and my son were always doing stuff together)

So the big day arrived last Friday, the tattoo parlor was closed for a special session for Her

if that link does not work go to this, her Tattoo of Her Cat is shown as currently the first picture

And one of my son’s clients Kate Spade saw his posting of the MIL’s cat tattoo and is sending her some special “cat” themed items they have…an umbrella and hand bag

Clanter the Instagram link doesn’t work for me, it says it’s not available but wow! That is so awesome! Good for her.

Maybe Instagram hates me :joy:. I’ll try again from my lap top. I don’t have any of those either.

Yeah not working for me either.

But congrats to her! I bet it looks awesome.

Link worked for me.

@clanter I wanna be your MIL when I “grow up”, & I’m darn close to her now :sunglasses:
Tell her from me, she’s my inspiration.
I’ve also always wanted a tattoo, but couldn’t decide what I’d want on me Forever.
Of course, forever isn’t all that long anymore

& Your son is The.Best.Grandkid!

I wanna see!

Cool!
Now I want one.

@clanter, can you save the image to your computer/phone and then upload it here for @Mohan et al.?
I would try it but I’m playing on my Dell Windows laptop and I can’t do anything much with it.

I am of no help unfortunately :joy:. Regardless I think it’s fantastic!

This is the best I can do, @Mohan. There is a video too but that’s beyond my skill level.

@clanter I hope this is OK.

Lol, she makes me want another tattoo

yes it OK as she is becoming an internet star through the connections my son has in the fashion industry (and others that he has in). His clients are a variance group who are always interested in new ideas, so where this goes is anyone’s guess.

Bryce Dallas, the tattoo artist, has had more hits on his posting of MIL than any other post he has entered.

Bryce’s parents owned Big D Morgans, we competed alongside them during the 1990s, 2000s. They were very competitive. Their farm (ranch) was in Prosper that was north of Dallas back then but now is part of the urban city scape. They sold out to a developer years ago as one leg of the Dallas North Tollway was projected to run through their ranch (still waiting for that leg of the tollway to be built)

At first our kids became showhorse friends then developed long lasting friendships. It is hard to believe “those” kids are the same age we were back in those days (or older)

we have a volunteer person who is also a tattoo artist, she wanted to have a chance to be around horses as she never had the chance as a “kid”. She comes by to help here as we still have four horses at home (and three miniatures and eight goats, three dogs, two cats). One of the recued horses (Bonnie) is her favorite, she (Katie) will spend hours with Bonnie, cleaning her paddock (we have her separated as Bonnie is on a special diet due to her age) brushing her, adjusting the fly protection gear, leading her around, mixing her Teff pellets with water and taking her snacks

Katie’s real job is also a tattoo artist who has a large cliental list. She showed up one day on her bicycle asking if she could touch a horse.

As for Why, I really strongly suggest that IF you are to ever name your place be thoughtful of the long term ramifications. When we got the horses for the kids (and my wife) we named our place Sanctuary Morgans as the thought was that this was to be a safe heaven for our kids where they could grow up with their horses.

This sanctuary has overtime become a place where many have come to decompress from the busyness of the times. We are in an odd place since we are on acreage in the middle of the city. Its not huge by any standard other than it is strange for there to be nearly ten acres of open ground that is not in a park around here. (we are less than 3/4 mile from a $2B mall)

yeah everyone except her were asking are you sure you want it that large… the others in the party most got very, very small cat tattoos on ankles or in special placements (one of our daughters got a cat pecking out from under her watch to see what time it is)

that’s a great tattoo; are you sure she’s 90, she looks wonderful. you and your wife have raised good people

how is the cat doing? Does she love it? I guess that woud be yes if she got the tattoo…

Great story! I agree with the others—she’s my new role model!
