Reminder: Take the Photos

Hey Y’all - just your reminder that now is the best time to book a photoshoot with your favorite photographer. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I recently got some sneak peeks of my recent photoshoot, and I’m already in love. Whether it’s animals, or kids, or whatever - get some photos, even if the occasion is only “because I want to”. Christmas is coming around (who is participating in our annual card exchange?!) if you need an actual reason, and I know a lot of photographers already offering specials.

In the past, I’ve used Terri Cage and this year I used Norfleet Photography. But there are hundreds of options, so take the photos.

Great idea! I would love a photo shoot with each of my boys.
Your picture is beautiful.

Wow is that a beautiful moment captured. What a great reminder and even better to use a professional.

I would never be able to get both the horse and me groomed and photogenic at exactly the same time. I may get close but instead of a picture like yours I’d have one with horse snot dripping off of my face.

Yes! One of my biggest regrets when I lost my dear mare last fall is that I never got the pro photos that I really wanted of her. I don’t need to be in the pictures but I surely will get them done for my new girl. I don’t want that regret again.

Oh, never fear. I have several less-than-flattering photos from this session (like where this lug head was yanking me down to try to get a mouthful of grass and my mouth is gaping open mid “QUIT”) - luckily, the photographers who do this professionally can work a lot of magic in making everyone look their best.

The photo I included is actually after we shot my entire herd - I ran a brush through my hair and tossed on a blazer. Black and white doesn’t catch the sweat dripping down the back. lol The trick is doing the heavy grooming (baths, clipping, etc) either the night or the morning before, then taking a human shower while the horse is munching hay quietly in their clean stall. Anything else can be photoshopped clean if needed.

Yesssss. I’d been putting this off for so long, but finally got Erin Gilmore (https://www.eringilmorephotos.com/) out to do ours. I loathe being in front of the camera, but she was magic. I’ll try not to spam too many :grimacing:!

Beautiful! And your barn is so dreamy!

Aww thank you! After my girls, it’s my pride and joy.

I’m just about to pick up a framed print of my yearling. He’s changed so much already since these were taken a few months ago.
