Remission supplement

I’d like to continue my mare on magnesium as well as try a hoof supplement again and I’ve seen good reviews of remission for things besides founder and laminitis.

My mare was not blessed with hardy hoof walls and soles and she tends to abscess easily in the winter or bruise on the trails. She has a good quality diet and an excellent farrier and her feet have improved on this diet but I’d like to give them a boost and maybe save myself from the cost of rear shoes this summer.

Does remission have anything in it for the hoof? My horses are on it because of the magnesium. It’s easier for me to get than the original mega-mag that I had them on. Plus has more magnesium. I’ve had no ill effects and my mag deficient horse is sane on it

I use Remission and it has been working well for us. I originally bought it on the vet’s recommendation for an inexpensive magnesium supplement. The fact it is also a hoof supplement talked me into trying it. We love it. For $20 at Tractor Supply, it’s probably the cheapest combination hoof supplement I have ever used for hooves, and the my gelding’s feet are staying beautiful. No need to go back to the hoof supplement I was paying $85 for. Once a week we also put some Tough Stuff along the bottom inch of the outside hoof wall to make sure everything stays fine.

Per ounce (2 scoops): biotin 20 mg, l-Lysine 2150mg, Methionine 3000mg, Zinc 100mg, Lineolenic acid (Omega 3 Fatty Acid) 510 mg, Chromium 14 mg, Magnesium 6000mg, Selenium 1ppm, Niacin 40 mg, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C 1200mg, Vitamin E 70IU, Total Lactic Acid Bacteria (Probiotics) 175 million CFU.

This is good to know. I had no idea Remission was good for hooves. I’ve used it in the past, but last time bought Quiescence to see if there was any difference. So far I’ve seen none, and the price of Remission is certainly more reasonable than the Quiescence too.

I use Remission as kind of an all around supplement because it is LOADED with stuff. Good for digestion, hooves, skin/coat… Love it. Can’t beat the price.

I was going to say the same thing! I have given it to all of my horses…

Another positive review for remission- I give it to my semi-retired arab mare and mini. The mini is much less cresty since she started remission.

Anybody here tried MagRestore with positive results?

I used MagRestore, and has taken about 3 months to see an effect on his crest. He did settle a little, but that wasn’t my main goal.
Now I’m switching to a straight MagOx (just going higher dose) as it is cheaper to maintain long term. Once his hoof supplement runs out I am considering Remission instead to “kill two birds with one stone” on his supplements!

Recently pointed out to me was that our area is very high in iron, so his Iron, Copper and Zinc ratios were way off of what is recommended…I have just started adding in the Cu & Zn minerals separately, as too high in Iron can play a role in the IR/Cresty neck issues too.

I have used Remission for years as a hoof supplement. It is excellent for that and can be used as a source of additional magnesium.
