Removing a halter nameplate--how to?

So I just bought a halter with a fancy nameplate for my mare-- you’d think a horse size from Smartpak would fit her, right? Yeah, no. Too small! I’d love to remove the nameplate and put it on her older leather halter (still very nice) and give the new one to my retired guy instead.

It has a screw attachment-- what is the best way to get it undone? Past experience has been the screw spinning and not coming undone. Anyone with a good method??

Pliers on one end, screw driver on the other.

With the chicago screws that like to spin, I tend to hold the smooth side with my thumb as tight as possible. On less noticeable CSs, I might break out the pliers, but in this case I would be hesitant about possibly scraping the plate or the screws…but that’s just me.

Any ideas for the ones that are riveted on? I bought one for my broodmare last year that is too small, but I’d like to take the nameplate off and keep it on hand for using on future youngsters.

Montana- I saw folks using a pair of farrier’s nippers to cut off the rivet on a Youtube video. Because there’s a Youtube video for darn near any problem (as I discovered when I googled this problem I have!)
